Lead Carbon batteries are in my opinion the best option in off grid living. They share similar life cycles to Lithium batteries however cost a fraction of the price and are also a much safer option in the case of fire risk.
 
Sun Arc is one of China's leading Solar storage, battery manufacturers for over 20 years. Their Lead carbon batteries have a standard, lead positive electrode but a supercapacitor negative electrode blended with Graphene and Carbon. They have dramatically reduced the potential for sulfating which is the most common cause of battery degradation in standard lead acid batteries. They have the potential for rapid charging and discharging and are happy in a PSOC (Partial state of charge)
 
A good quality AGM battery for example, cycling at 30% DOD (Depth of discharge) will last 1500-2000 cycles but will need full charge between cycles, This lead carbon battery in contrast will last around 5000 cycles at 30% DOD with negligible effect from PSOC, over 3000 cycles at 50% DOD and around 2000 cycles at 80% DOD.

*All our battery warranties are conditional to evidence of correct installation and capacity for system. Any incorrectly installed battery, with not enough capacity for the power usage or not enough charging current, will degrade at a much higher rate.
